Autograph letter signed, addressed to Vincenzo Caraffa : House of St. Mary with the Hurons, New France, 1 March 1649.

The head of the Huron mission writes of events there: 1,700 baptisms, eleven new missions, the constant threat of war which made impossible all of the work he would like to undertake. The letter was written to the Intendant General of the Society of Jesus in Rome.
